A major exhibition showcasing the latest defense achievements of the Iranian Armed Forces has opened at Tehran’s Grand Mosalla نمازخانه بزرگ تهران, with over 560 military equipment on display.
The exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Defense in cooperation with the Armed Forces and under the supervision of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, opened on Wednesday at Tehran’s Grand Mosalla in the presence of Major General Mohammad Bagheri سرلشگر محمد باقري.
Over 560 domestically-developed military equipment, including various types of drones, missiles, bombs, armored and airborne equipment, weapons, helicopters, marine equipment as well as equipment to fight chemical and electronic warfare, have been put on public display.
Notable among the products unveiled at the exhibition are Iranian drones ‘Kaman 12’ and ‘Shahed-171’, as well as ‘Akhgar’ missile, and ‘Shahin’ drone disruptor.
The exhibition will receive visitors from January 30th to February 11th.
Iran unveiled two homegrown anti-armor missiles on Wednesday.
The missiles, named Toofan-3M طوفان and Toofan-7 طوفان, were put on display at an exhibition of achievements of the Iranian Armed Forces.
Both missiles are top attack projectiles, which strike armored vehicles from above. They detect the target with electromagnetic and laser sensors from above and detonate their warhead at the top of the target.
Toofan-3M, is a new generation of Toofan-3 missiles, while Toofan-7 is considered the newest homegrown anti-armor missile.
Iranian military technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.
Tehran has always assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to regional countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
Iranian drones ‘Kaman 12’ پهپاد كمان دوازده and ‘Shahed-171’ پهپاد شاهد صد و هفتاد و يك, designed and built by Iranian specialists, have been unveiled in an exhibition of military achievements, held in Imam Khomeini Musalla.
‘Eghtedar 40’ اقتدار چهل Exhibition is underway in Imam Khomeini Musalla, ahead of the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
Kaman 12 UAV
‘Kaman 12’ can take off from the runways which have minimum length of 400m, flying at a speed of 200km per hour with a 10-hour flight time.
The domestic drone has an operating range of 1,000 km, with carrying capacity of 100 kg and a maximum weight of 450 kg on takeoff.
Shahed 171 UCAV
The Iranian Shahed-171 stealth combat drone that carry 4 smart precision guided missiles or bombs.
Iran had reverse engineered the US stealth RQ-170 and developed its own version called simorgh سيمرغ. Iran then upgraded and made the recon drone into a COMBAT DRONE with Iranian engines and improved stealth and electronics for a attack version and called it Shahed-171.
